10 Rare and Collectible PSP Games
Written by N4G.com : News Feed : psp on November 19, 2008 – 1:46 pm"Video game collecting is not just a hobby for completionist dorks any more. More and more gamers are starting to see their favorite pastime as a potential investment, as the popularity of old games means that certain titles are in less and less supply. The older and more obscure a gaming system, the better chance that its more sought after titles will fetch a high price on Ebay or other auction sites. "

Dark AleX: Psardumper with PSP-3000 modules decryption
Written by Isaac C. on November 19, 2008 – 12:30 pm
Here's some more news from the PSP-3000 hacking front. Not from Datel this time though, but from the man himself, Dark AleX.It's a new Psardumper for the PSP Phat and Slim, but will allow the decryption of the PSP-3000's PRXs. Repeat, this is not for the PSP-3000. If that didn't get through to you, here's the word from DAX:
Firstly, to avoid misunderstanding: This program is NOT for psp 3000. It is for psp1000/2000, but it allows the decryption of psp 3000 prx's for researching purposes.
Modules specifically of psp 3000 usually end with 03g. From the files, it seems that umdcache is handled differently in psp 3000, and that psp 3000 comes with a new wireless chip.
A big thanks go out to Razero for the quick tip!

I spy on Amazon: Ratchet and Clank bundled with a PSP 3000
Written by Jon G. on November 19, 2008 – 12:08 pm
In the Market for a PSP 3000 for Christmas? You might be interested in this little tidbit found on Amazon: The PSP 3000 Limited Edition Ratchet and Clank Entertainment Pack. (in black)The bundle will contain the aforementioned piano black PSP 3000 with the Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters game. It will also have a UMD movie (National Treasure 2), and a 1GB memory stick. The whole ensemble will set you back US 199.99 and will be available by the 15th of December.
Personally, Ratchet and Clank isn't really my kind of game but it's popular enough that I (and you!) can give it away as a "present" without looking like a miser. The rest of the bundle I intend to surreptitiously keep. Money saved, relatives happy.
The link to the amazon page is in the bottom of this article if you're interested in buying it.

Hold v3.4: fixed Hold switch
Written by Isaac C. on November 19, 2008 – 10:23 am
Homebrew developer Torch has released the latest update to Hold , a plugin that'll help your battery save on juice. This is a bug fix release, addressing a problem that caused some PSPs to remain underclocked even after turning off the Hold switch. Torch explains:
The problem is the Hold switch doesn't consistently return a pressed state. It sometimes rapidly fluctuates between an Off and On signal.
If this fluctuation occurs within one iteration of the main program loop, it causes problems. Its not humanly possible to toggle the Hold switch so fast, but a loose connection can :P
